Two of our members had success at the Royal Highland Show last week. The Handcraft competitions had a Christmas theme which seemed to spark great creativity with lots of entries.
Mairi Alexander (Tannadice & Oathlaw SWI) won 2nd places for her handkitted wellie socks, Christmas tree skirt incorportaing appliqué and a patchwork Advent Calendar; a 3rd place for hand knitted hat, scarf and gloves and a 4th place for a toy made of fur fabric.
Margaret McIldowie (Westmuir SWI) was awarded 1st place for her embroidered traycloth in hardanger and a 3rd place for her box incorporating stumpwork.
Well done to both of these members!
