The Angus Federation Golf Competition took place at Brechin Golf Club on 10th May 2024 in glorious sunshine. 3 teams took part and the results were as follows:
1st place: Karen Stephen and Judy Goodfellow (Auchterhouse) – scoring nett 71.8
2nd place: Claire Milne and Mairi Milne (Auchterhouse) – scoring nett 74.8
3rd place: Catherine Peebles and Mary Skinner (Fowlis and Liff) – scoring nett 86.6
The Longest Drive prizes went to Claire Milne and Catherine Peebles
Well played to everyone and a BIG THANK YOU (and a bottle of wine) was given to Maureen Macleod who walked round and marked a card for us and was chief photographer at the event.
We are hoping to attract increased numbers for 2025 by changing and adding to the golf competition next year. Unfortunately the National Competition is currently paused, but we intend to grow and improve our local event. We are hoping to introduce a new 9-hole Stableford competition as well as an award for the best scratch score. Buggies will be available to hire to make this as inclusive a competition as possible in our Federation. This has historically been a Handicap event only, but next year will see an expansion to this event in Angus.
