This year’s National Final will take place on Saturday 10th April at 1:30pm online with the theme of ‘Journeys’. Don’t miss this opportunity to discover how this competition works and cheer on our members representing Angus in the final (Evelyn Balfour and Lynne Webster, Letham & District SWI; Kathleen Ferrier, Kingsmuir SWI; Joy Spence, Menmuir SWI). There are 10 teams entered for this competition so it should be a good afternoon of entertainment. Jim Gibson will be judging the Competition.

The order of peformance is available here.

The Angus Federation round took place a year ago, on the 3rd February 2020 in Letham Village Hall. Our Angus round was won by Aldbar SWI, and Letham & District SWI were placed a close second.

Each team of four choose their own selection and make up their own programme of prose and poetry readings based on the theme ‘Journeys’. Six to nine separate pieces are used within the total time limits of 12 and 15 minutes.

The rules state: All pieces may be read – they need not be committed to memory (no extra marks will be given for this) but must be read fluently and there should be no emphasis on acting or miming.  No ‘props’, background music or effects are required.  The voices do all the work!
