CONGRATULATIONS go to Auchterhouse SWI members Mairi and Claire Milne, who shot a nett 63 (gross 75) to win at Loudoun Gowf Club, Galston, east of Kilmarnock, on Monday 21st August 2023. And yes, it really is spelled like that! Well done to our ‘Angus 2’ team of Irene Park and Gloria Mitchell from Cortachy SWI, who came a respectable 7th= place with a nett 75.
Mairi sent in this report: “We were worried driving to the Loudoun Gowf Club when the wipers were on double time! However, as we walked onto the first tee the rain stopped and we had sunny, if windy, conditions for our whole round. We played with lovely ladies from Stewartry, Isobel and Helen.
Claire and I enjoyed the course which was in fantastic condition. We had a dream round, never off the fairway with our drives and no 3-putts! We did land in one bunker so it wasn’t all plain sailing. The cakes provided by the ladies of the SWI host federation Ayrshire, boosted us for the back 9 and we parred and birdied our way home (except for one rogue bogey!) So chuffed to have won the trophy for Angus Federation and particularly for Auchterhouse SWI.”
