We were delighted to have 11 pairs competing for the golf trophies on Monday 17th June. We had some mixed weather at Kirriemuir GC however we avoided the worst downpour as we ate our soup and sandwiches.
Congratulations to the winning pairing of Valona Gouck (Aldbar) and Judy Goodfellow (Auchterhouse) and second placed Diane Langlands and Joan Donaldson (Kilry). Judy also won the nearest the pin prize and Karen Stephen (Auchterhouse) won the longest drive (Bronze).
A huge thanks goes to Maureen Macleod, our Federation President who got more than she bargained for, having to head out onto the course as a marker for one couple! Her enthusiasm, photography skills and welcome for all the ladies was very much appreciated and she presented the prizes in the afternoon.
Despite the need for waterproofs and umbrellas all the ladies enjoyed their golf and socialising over a late lunch. Our first and second placed pairs will represent Angus in August as they travel to the Isle of Arran to compete in the SWI National Golf Final.
